Biography
Lecturer Yang Xiaoxin received her Ph.D. in Defense Economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics (China). Her scholarly and teaching interests focus on the issue of the strategies of the defense industry, and the spillover effects of the defense budget under the perspectives of international relationships. She has published articles on defense economics, defense innovations, and civil-military integration in journals such as Defence and Peace Economics; Science & Technology Progress and Policy, Inquiry into Economic Issues, Zhejiang Social Science, and Contemporary Economics. Her current research examines how international relationships affect strategies for defense expenditure with empirical methods including spatial econometrics and fsQCA. Her present works funded by Qingdao Postdoctoral Science Foundation include a working paper exploring the interaction between international relationships, navy construction, and maritime priorities.
